Guidelines
The CPB section annually awards the George Holeton award to the most outstanding student Poster presentation in our section. The award guidelines are listed below. All CPB students attending the Annual General Meeting are automatically entered to win the prize when submitting a poster as a first author.
This prize is presented at the Annual Meeting of the CSZ. lt will be awarded far the Best Student Poster presentation within the Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Section of the Society.
The following are a set of guidelines for the awards.
1. The recipient will be selected by a committee of at least three judges.
2. Candidates will be judged both on the quality of scientific content, the presentation and knowledge of the subject area.
3. Candidates must either currently be students or have completed their degree within the past year. They must present work completed towards their degree.
4. The candidate must be the first author on the presentation and must be the person directly responsible for the majority of work presented on the poster.
5. All students who select the Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology section, and who indicate on the registration form that they wish to participate in the Holeton award competition, and who are first author are eligible unless they fall under rules 6 and 7 below. The judges reserve the opportunity to widen the field of participants to all students who select the Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology section and are first author if the need arises.
6. Students winning the Helen Battle award are ineligible to win the George Holeton Award in that year.
7. The George Holeton Award of the CPB Section cannot be awarded to a previous recipient of the prize.
